Vinyl Sticker!
1.Which illustrator tools were essential for this project?Why were they so important?
Shape builder was an essential tool in order to make everything cohesive and make sure the sticker was cut properly. Pen tool was also important because it let me create the general shape of my sticker.
2.What did you find most challenging about this project?
The most challenging part of this project was remembering what the negative and positive space was. I also always had to keep in mind how it was going to cut, so I always had to create outlines and make sure the final product was going to be what I wanted.
3.What is a composition grid?How did you use them for this project?
A composition grid is a sheet of paper with boxes that allow you to sketch and plan out your sticker ahead of time. In this project, we used them to plan put our stickers and make sure it expressed the theme and highlighted our given word.
4.Do you feel like your sticker meets the “Nature lover” theme?
My sticker meets the “Nature Lover” theme sort of unconventionally. My word was Adventurer, so I wanted to incorporate the theme of adventure into my sticker. I thought about underwater adventure and decided to go with scuba googles, since it represented both nature and adventure.
5.How did your sticker cut? Did you make any mistakes?What was most challenging about placing the sticker onto a surface?
